This is the time that most of us get nostalgic about the days when we were young and got to go back to school shopping for clothes. After high school, for what I’ve seen, many people stop caring what they wear to class. One piece of advise I’d like to give every college student is to care about your appearance. You never know who you may meet or what connections you can make on a college campus. Think about it. you have people who are in upper management on the same campus as people who are just leaving high school. I’m not saying you have to be in full business attire at all times but can we please stop with the whole going to class in rollers and pajamas thing. The biggest thing is to wear items that are presentable and comfortable at the same time. Some of the items that got me through undergrad without looking like a complete slob are:
- Jersey and broom skirts
- shoes with a small heel
This is just my short list but for the most part my wardrobe was filled with basics. Every college student (every adult for that matter) should have some interview attire ready. This includes navy and black slacks/suit, PROPER UNDERGARMENTS, ops/jackets that are not revealing, and a good pair of semi dressy shoes.
It’s ok to add a pop of color to an otherwise boring interview suit but make sure to Not overdo it.
I know this post was a little random but it was just on my mind
